Letters to Darcy
It's hard to believe my daughter's story will be read by many. It will be bitter-sweet for me and my family to relive those days, but God knows what He is doing. It is our hope that many will find hope through difficult times, realize the sanctity and value of a human life, and find Jesus through Darcy's story.

Here's what readers are saying about Letters to Darcy
I finished the most amazing book, written by a friend of mine, Tracy Ramos. It is called "Letters to Darcy" comprised of letters she wrote to her unborn child. Her child whom she spent the most precious 15 days with, before her daughter was taken to Heaven to be with the Angels! Her daughter had Trisomy 18, and her family was blessed to spend this time with her.

This amazing book written by Tracy Ramos will leave you embracing the gifts that God has given you. Tracy's book is compiled of heartfelt letters written to her unborn child. A child who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a life threatening genetic condition. Tracy describes the pains of discovering this most heartbreaking news, and the joys of enjoying every single day of her pregnancy. Tracy and her family were blessed with 15 beautiful days with their Darcy, before returning their Angel home to Heaven. They share with you every miracle of those 15 days.
This book will touch your inner self with it's faith filled lessons and powerful meaning. It helps us all become real and learn the lessons of life and to never take things forgranted. I thank Tracy and her family for sharing their story with me. I will give you one small piece of advice, have your tissues ready, because it will make you cry, but it will also make you smile at their strength and commitment to their lovely daughter Darcy!! I know to well the pain of losing a child recently to Trisomy 18, and Tracy was able to open a world to me that I never knew existed. A must read for anyone, my two daughters are also reading it and loving this book!!

"REVIEW: This is a very intimate account of one extraordinary family, a loving couple and a brave mom, Tracy, who writes to her unborn child growing in her body. Reading Tracy’s letters to Darcy confirmed to me that God knows exactly what each one of us is equipped to do—even though we may not feel ready for the task at hand. He knew the parents that would embrace and love Darcy for her short time here on earth.
Tracy’s courage and love for her unborn child is amazing to read. The family planned everything out in advance and prayed daily that they would get to hold their seventh child, even if it was only for a few hours.
"Letters to Darcy" is one family’s journey from pregnancy to birth and beyond. It’s a story of how God provided for their every need and crisis. Jason and Tracy watched how God became real and how, through their faithfulness to not end the life of Darcy, God’s comfort and support, would stay with them all the way!. This book will pull on your heart strings, but at the same time give you hope and courage to do the daring God calls you to do. There are pictures documenting their journey, they will choke you up and touch your heart to the core. While reading this you can’t help but rejoice with this special family and life of Darcy. It’s an amazing story you’ll definitely want to read. Thanks to the publisher Tyndale, for the opportunity to read this very special book"

"This story just about broke my heart. On one hand, it was such a beautiful story of a new life being created, but then, their world comes crashing down because of how everything will eventually turn out. Tracy's story is such a testimony to letting God take full control of her life and her circumstances, even though she struggles with it every single day of her pregnancy. Definitely have a full box of tissue when you read Darcy's short life story. It will bring tears of sadness and joy, but it will also fill you with hope and a renewed faith in God."

"I am so excited to bring this interview to you today! The story of Darcy and Tracy's letters to her are incredibly touching. I could only read a few entries at a time before my tears began to flow.
I did make it through the book. I have found my faith to be encouraged and strengthened as a result of this sweet little life.
Thank you Tracy. Thank you for sharing your letters to Darcy, your family moments, your weaknesses, your stumbles, your successes, your joys, your blessings & your little one. To Darcy, Thank you for being a fighter! But most of all for being such a bright light for Jesus that I can only hope to shine half as bright as you."
"ALL Life is sacred!I finished reading a book called "Letters to Darcy". It is a book by author Tracy Ramos. It started as a blog, letters to her unborn daughter Darcy who was diagnosed with Trisomy 18. I was truly touched by this story. Not just in the value of little Darcy's life, but in the ways God moved, how He showed Himself not only to this family but to their church body and community. Little things became big blessings - how often do I see the blessings? How often do you?
I think everyone should read this book. Pro-life and pro-abortion. If you already value life at conception this book helps to solidify why one believes that. If you are pro-abortion, I think this book will, at the very least, get you to think twice about when life begins (at least I hope it does) and that each life is valuable & worthy of living - even if for a short time. God truly does have a plan for each of us (Jeremiah 29:11) - whether our days be long or short.
Here is a little about the book and author. I will be interviewing Tracy on the 23rd - so be sure to come back and meet her and hear more about Darcy and her blog"

"Okay, this tour is one of the harder ones for me, emotionally. I now have seven kids, but they didn’t come without much lamenting and prayer. I had seven miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy before God blessed me to bring any babies to full term. I also had doctors telling me I would never have a baby and if I did happen to get pregnant I would never bring it to term.I can only imagine, and not to the fullest because I can’t let my mind go enough to go to the place where Tracy’s been, what Tracy and her entire family must have felt going through such a heart-wrenching trial as this.
This story will move you for many reasons. But I found myself being moved even more than normal because not only is Tracy a sister in Christ, but she’s a sister in the homeschool arena (only those who do what we do( homeschool moms), can really appreciate the enormity of it all. And she has 10 children…that’s classified as “a lot of kids.” So I can relate to her in that area too. Not only that, we don’t live that far from each other."

"Oh, dear reader! To read this story is to experience a miracle! The love poured upon these pages is tangible and powerful! If you have ever, ever questioned the beginning of life at the moment of conception, you will never, ever question it again after reading this story! What a precious testimony of God working in the lives of His children!
I lost my first child through miscarriage, and reading this helped me to grieve this loss, but also allowed me to rejoice in the gift of life anew. I have two beautiful, healthy sons now - ages 14 & 16 - and I will love them all the better after reading this precious tribute to Darcy! Praise GOD for the gift of her life and the testimony of her family!"

"Letters to Darcy by Tracy Ramos is a heart-breaking yet hopeful look at the life and death of a child. Tracy and Jason Ramos had made the decision to stop having children after their sixth, so when she unexpectedly became pregnant, the couple felt a mix of joy and worry. That worry became fear when in the fourth month of pregnancy the baby girl, Darcy, was diagnosed with trisomy 18, a genetic disease that made her "incompatible with life." Tracy fought the doctors who wanted her to end the pregnancy and began writing a blog in the form of letters to the precious little girl inside of her. She poured out her heart for the several months of pregnancy and the fifteen days little Darcy survived after her birth. During the course of their battles, the Ramos' faced despair and hope and saw incredible beauty and grace as friends and strangers poured out support in amazing ways. Tracy is brutally honest in her writing, making the story gut-wrenching. It's her faith that carries her through, but occasionally she faced doubt and deep depression, which allows readers to empathize in a way that wouldn't work if Tracy glossed over the rough spots or ignored the grief. Darcy's story brought several people to God, stopped others from aborting their trisomy 18 babies, and became a rallying cry for pro-lifers. Tracy's writing isn't polished or perfect, but it is the unvarnished truth about how God takes care of us and works His good through every circumstance for those who believe in Him."

"Letters To Darcy is a beautiful tribute from one fellow blogger to her child. I have had a number of friends who have had children pass away after being diagnosed with Trisomy 18, and this book was a great way for me to learn more about this illness.Though a small book and quick to read, this was definitely not an easy read by any means. The emotions that I had while reading Letters To Darcy were mostly sad, as the family prepared to say goodbye to a child they would not get a chance to really know. However, I was also filled with joy because of the strength Tracy and her husband displayed throughout this difficult situation. Whenever I think of Christian families going through the illness and/or death of child I know that though they struggle, their strength is found in the Lord. This book was a wonderful example how how one's faith can bring them through even the toughest of times."

"Letters to Darcy by Tracy Ramos is a heartwarming and heartwrenching account of a mother who chooses life for her child even though doctors say she should end the baby's life. Through great faith this mother, with the support of family, husband and friends wanted to follow God's will no matter how bad the pain and suffering for her. The love that is felt from this mother is remarkable and so encouraging for others who don't know where to turn. Turning to God is the only answer. God spoke life in her womb and she was not to say if the baby lived or went to be with Him early. She gave this baby a chance when so many others wouldn't. God has a plan for every life no matter how fragile. He has reached so many through this little life and shows we are not to doubt His actions. Much faith can be restored after reading this little book even though there was much pain and suffering. It shows to choose God's will no matter what ours is."
"Tracy and Jason Ramos, faced news no one ever wants to hear. "Your baby is not compatible with life, it would be best to terminate the pregnancy" What horrible words to hear. This book is the story of the journey of carrying a baby with Trisomy 18 to full term and the fifteen days of little Darcy Anne Ramos's life.
Originally posted on a blog, Tracy shares her heart and sorrows, joys and hopes about her pregnancy. The journey she walked, the good and the bad. She is very very open about her distress, and she is also open about problems she and her husband faced during this difficult time. She shares her feelings about how others treated them, family and strangers.
A story of love, this journey will touch your heart. You will enjoy hearing about those days that little Darcy lived, all the things she was able to do on the Darcy list. A small book, with a big message, Letters to Darcy will touch you in a way you could not imagine."

"Back in 2002, I picked up a book lying on a give-away table in our office cafeteria. Love, Greg and Lauren was a book of e-mails that Greg wrote to keep their friends posted on Lauren's progress after being burned over 80 percent of her body. I was mesmerized. I felt like I was right there with them in that hospital burn unit awaiting each day's prognosis. I read like a junkie looking for another hit.
I felt much the same as I read Letters to Darcy, which was graciously supplied for me by Christian Speaker Services. Tracy Ramos blogged her joys, frustrations, fears and sorrows as she discovers first that she is pregnant and then that the baby she is carrying has trisomy 18, a birth defect that made baby Darcy "incompatible with life." Ramos shares her feelings sometimes with such naked honesty that I want to avert my eyes. But I keep on reading, all 11 months of posts, through the birth, death and aftermath.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
It was hard to get through this book. In fact, I had to put it down a few times because I needed to stop crying in order to move on. The book is sad. So, so sad. But there’s so much hope in Ramos’ voice that I felt encouraged to keep reading. I knew she made it through this painful time in her life and I wanted to keep reading to see how she did it. It was through her family, her church, and her faith that she pushed on.
I can’t say that I recommend this book to everyone. There is a lot of Christian language and talk of praising God. I don’t wear my faith on my sleeve, so for someone who doesn’t read a lot of literature of this type, it was a totally different reading experience."
